Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rento mobile application (the "App") developed and operated by SR Trading ("we," "our," or "us"), available on the Google Play Store (Android) and Apple App Store (iOS).
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App. Please read these Terms carefully before using the App.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
- "App" refers to the Rento mobile application available on Android and iOS platforms.
- "User" or "you" refers to any individual who downloads, installs, or uses the App.
- "Plumber" refers to a user registered with the role of plumber who scans QR codes to earn points.
- "Salesperson" refers to a user registered with the role of salesperson who manages plumber referrals and earns commission points.
- "Owner" refers to a user registered with the role of company owner who manages salespersons and company operations.
- "Points" refers to the virtual reward points earned by scanning QR codes on eligible products.
- "QR Code" refers to the unique Quick Response codes affixed to eligible products that can be scanned to earn points.
- "Referral Code" refers to the unique code assigned to each salesperson for linking plumber registrations.
- "Services" refers to all features and functionalities provided through the App.
- "UPI" refers to the Unified Payments Interface. We collect your UPI ID solely for manual reward payouts processed by our admin outside the App.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2.2 Registration Requirements
- Plumbers must register using a valid Indian mobile phone number and a valid referral code provided by a registered salesperson.
- Salespersons are registered by their company owners and do not self-register through the App.
- Owners are set up through direct coordination with SR Trading.
2.3 Geographic Availability
The App and its Services are currently available for users in India only. Reward redemptions are manually processed by our admin to Indian UPI IDs.
3. Account Registration and Security
3.1 Account Creation
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration, including a valid Indian phone number (10 digits).
- Your phone number serves as your primary identifier and must be unique within the App.
- Account verification is performed via a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered phone number via WhatsApp.
3.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must not share your OTP, account access, or referral codes in an unauthorized manner.
- You must immediately notify us if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
- We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to maintain security.
3.3 One Account Per Phone Number
Each phone number can be associated with only one Rento account. Duplicate registrations with the same phone number are not permitted.
4. Description of Services
4.1 QR Code Scanning & Points
- Plumbers can scan QR codes placed on eligible products using the App's built-in camera scanner.
- Upon successful scanning of a valid, unused, and non-expired QR code, reward points are automatically credited to your account.
- Points are calculated based on the product's Maximum Retail Price (MRP) and the point percentage configured by the administrator.
- Points are distributed between the plumber and their linked salesperson according to the configured distribution percentages.
4.2 Point Redemption
- Users (plumbers and salespersons) may redeem their accumulated points for monetary value.
- Not a Financial App: Rento is strictly a reward points application and not a payment, banking, or financial services app. We do not integrate with any payment gateways.
- All redemption payments are processed manually by the administrator outside the App's infrastructure via UPI transfer.
- A minimum point threshold must be met before a redemption request can be initiated. The current threshold is configured by the administrator and displayed in the App.
- Upon submitting a redemption request, the threshold amount of points is deducted from your balance and a transaction record with "Pending" status is created.
- Redemption payouts are subject to manual verification by the administrator. Actual payment timelines depend on administrative processing.
4.3 Service Requests
- Plumbers can submit plumbing service requests through the App, including an address, pincode, description of the issue, and optional images (up to 3 images).
- Service requests are reviewed and managed by the administrator. Status updates (Pending, In Progress, Completed) are reflected in the App.
- Submitting a service request does not guarantee service delivery. Service availability depends on location and other operational factors.
4.4 Company & Team Management
- Owners can create and manage salespersons under their company, view all linked plumbers, and reassign plumbers between salespersons.
- Salespersons can view the plumbers linked to them via their referral code and track their earned points.
4.5 Notifications
- The App sends push notifications and in-app notifications for events such as points earned, redemption status updates, and promotional campaigns.
- You may opt out of push notifications via your device settings at any time.
4.6 Product Catalog
- The App may provide access to a product catalog linked by the administrator. The catalog is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute an offer of sale through the App.
5. User Obligations and Acceptable Use
5.1 You Agree To:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and while using the App.
- Use the App only for its intended purposes as described in these Terms.
- Comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations while using the App.
- Scan only genuine QR codes affixed to products purchased through legitimate channels.
5.2 You Agree NOT To:
- Create multiple accounts or provide false information during registration.
- Use fraudulent, counterfeit, duplicated, or tampered QR codes.
- Share, distribute, or sell QR codes or referral codes for unauthorized purposes.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or hack the App or its backend systems.
- Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or scrapers to interact with the App.
- Exploit any bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities in the App to gain unauthorized points or benefits.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable burden on the App's infrastructure.
- Use the App for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose.
- Transfer, sell, or exchange your account or points with other users except through official App mechanisms.
- Upload obscene, offensive, defamatory, or illegal content through service request images.
6. Points and Rewards Program
6.1 Point Earning Rules
- Points are earned exclusively through scanning valid QR codes via the App.
- Each QR code can be scanned only once. Attempting to scan an already-used QR code will result in an error.
- QR codes that have passed their batch expiry date cannot be scanned and will not award points.
- Points are credited instantly upon successful QR code scanning.
- Joining bonus points may be awarded at the time of registration, as configured by the administrator.
6.2 Point Value and Calculation
- The point value and distribution percentages between plumbers and salespersons are determined solely by the administrator.
- Points are calculated as a percentage of the product MRP as configured in the administrative settings.
- We reserve the right to modify point values, percentages, and calculation methods at any time without prior notice.
6.3 Point Redemption Rules
- Points can be redeemed only when your balance meets or exceeds the minimum redemption threshold.
- The redemption threshold is set by the administrator and may change from time to time.
- Each redemption request deducts exactly the threshold amount of points from your balance.
- A valid UPI ID is required for all redemption requests to facilitate manual payouts by our admin.
- Redemption requests are subject to administrator approval and processing.
- Processing time for redemptions may vary and is not guaranteed within any specific timeframe.
6.4 Points Have No Cash Value Until Redeemed
- Points have no cash value, monetary value, or property value until they are successfully redeemed and a payment is processed.
- Points cannot be transferred between accounts, sold, or exchanged outside of the official redemption process.
- Points are non-refundable once a redemption request has been submitted and processed.
6.5 Forfeiture of Points
We reserve the right to forfeit, deduct, or void points in the following circumstances:
- Fraudulent activity or violation of these Terms.
- Use of counterfeit or tampered QR codes.
- Multiple account creation or identity fraud.
- Any activity that artificially inflates point balances.
- Account deletion (all remaining points are forfeited).
7. Account Deletion
7.1 Your Right to Delete
You may delete your account at any time through the App's profile settings.
7.2 Consequences of Account Deletion
Upon account deletion:
- All personal data associated with your account will be permanently deleted.
- All transaction history and service request records will be permanently removed.
- All remaining points in your account will be forfeited and cannot be recovered.
- Any pending redemption requests may not be processed after deletion.
- QR codes previously scanned by you will be reset.
- Account deletion is irreversible.
7.3 Restrictions on Deletion
- Salespersons with linked plumbers must have their plumbers reassigned by their company owner before account deletion is permitted.
- Owners must remove all salespersons from their company before deleting their account.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Rights
- The App, including its design, code, features, branding, logos, trademarks, and content, is the intellectual property of SR Trading.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
8.2 User Content
- By uploading images or other content through the App (e.g., service request images), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, and process such content for the purpose of providing the Services.
- You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to upload any content you submit through the App.
9. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information about how we collect, use, and share your personal data. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
10.1 "As Is" Service
THE APP AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
10.2 No Guarantee of Availability
We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times, uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of the Services at any time without prior notice.
10.3 Service Requests
Submission of a service request through the App does not guarantee that the plumbing service will be provided. Service availability is subject to geographic coverage, resource availability, and other operational considerations.
10.4 Manual Payouts
We process reward payouts manually. Rento does not process transactions natively and is not a payment app. We are not responsible for delays, failures, or issues related to external manual UPI payment processing by third-party payment service providers. Any disputes regarding the external UPI transfer should be directed to your bank or UPI service provider.
10.5 QR Code Validity
We are not responsible for QR codes that are damaged, illegible, tampered with, or placed on counterfeit products. We do not guarantee the availability or validity of QR codes.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- SR Trading shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the use of the App shall not exceed the total value of points redeemed by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
- We shall not be liable for any loss arising from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to maintain account security.
- We shall not be liable for any technical issues, server downtime, or data loss caused by factors beyond our reasonable control.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SR Trading, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App or Services.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Any fraudulent activity conducted through your account.
- Any content you upload through the App.
13. Termination
13.1 Termination by You
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time as described in Section 7.
13.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, including but not limited to cases where:
- You violate any provision of these Terms.
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity.
- You attempt to manipulate, exploit, or abuse the points system.
- We are required to do so by law or regulation.
- We discontinue the App or Services.
13.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the App ceases immediately.
- Any remaining points in your account may be forfeited.
- Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including Sections 8, 10, 11, 12, and 15.
14. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting the updated Terms within the App. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes through:
- In-app notifications.
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms.
- Push notifications for significant changes.
Your continued use of the App after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App and delete your account.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
15.2 Dispute Resolution
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the App shall be resolved through:
- Amicable Settlement: The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably through direct communication.
- Arbitration: If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably within 30 days, it shall be referred to and resolved by arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 of India. The arbitration shall be conducted by a sole arbitrator mutually appointed by both parties.
- Jurisdiction: Subject to the arbitration clause above, the courts of India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms.
16. General Provisions
16.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SR Trading regarding the use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
16.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
16.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
16.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
16.5 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, network failures, or third-party service outages.
16.6 No Agency
Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and SR Trading.
